asked to make practical solutions for testing. Their design and creative energies meet the challenge by producing a quality solution.

• Some projects will require team-work while others are made by each student.

• They may bend or break a project, they may fly a project or simply race it on a track – it’s all fun!


• There are four themes on rotation … o Designing and making the most efficient bridge – testing it

until it breaks. o Flying a launched water rocket the furthest – wing/fins and

nose cones are created on a 3d printer. o Racing a model dragster as fast and furious as can be done

on a timed test track – this may be CNC machined from your CAD drawing.

o Perhaps an electronic car following a course using light sensors as fast as possible.

Requirements: • $50 for most materials but some enhancements to project solutions may require an ingenious gathering of further resources.

• Generally most basic equipment will be supplied.

to focus on developing gifted and talented dance students across the performance arena. traditional nurturing role, or as the extreme opposite – complete evil. An understanding of the representation of women throughout history is integral for students who are constantly exposed to negative gender stereotypes. Elective Name Travelling the Great Wall KLA LOTE Fees: Nil Course Description Students of Bonnyrigg High come from varied backgrounds and culture. This

course will give them an opportunity to understand more about their heritages and others. The school is offering several excursions to different countries in 2017, it would be beneficial for students to learn more about different countries and learn to be more accepting. Moreover, this course teaches students how to plan their own trips which allows them to be more adventurous and organised. Do you travelling? Do you like different cuisines? Do you like experiencing different culture? In this course we will ‘travel’ around the world, ‘visit’ famous sight-seeing and experience different culture. You will get to make your own travel itinerary and travel brochures.


Famous tourism sights and culture about the selected countries below will be introduced: Term 1: China, Japan, Korea and south East Asia Term 2: Europe Term 3: America and South America Term 4: Canada and Middle East Students will learn about their customs, food, traditional value, festivals and so on. And they will make travel brochures and posters.
