Subject: La Reata Board Meeting Minutes

1. Call To Order:The meeting was called to order at 4:05 PM. Present were Nick Collier, C.M.Nutt, and David Bell.

2. Old Business:a. June 2008 Minutes. The minutes for June 2008 were approved.b. Financial.

1) The current status of past due fees was reviewed.2) The board has invested $40K of the POA reserve in a 182-day CD. Theissue of taxes on interest will be investigated.3) On-line access for board members has been established for the POA bank

account.

c. New Construction. Residences under construction and recently approved forconstruction were discussed

d. Flags. Replacement flags are on order to replace those recently stolen. Theboard discussed various alternatives to better secure the new flags when theyare mounted.

e.

Broadband Internet Service. This will be scheduled as a topic for discussionat the October Voters Meeting. A small committee was organized to reviewoptions for the subdivision and will be asked to make a presentation of theirfindings and recommendations at the Fall Voters Meeting in October.

f. Fall Festival. The board will check property owner interests in having a fallfestival this year and whether anyone is available or interested in takingresponsibility for the function.

g. POA Records. The board remains concerned there needs to be animprovement in record keeping within the association committees and iscommitted to moving forward to improve this.

3. New Business:a. Contractor Assessments. The board discussed whether it is in the POAs

interest to periodically assess the performance of contractors engaged by thePOA. This would also provide a better feedback channel for the contractors toimprove any support they may desire or require from the board or POAcommittees. This issue will be taken up again at the next board meeting.

b. Vandalism. The issue of vandalism in the subdivision was discussed, givingrise to consideration of electronic surveillance or some other pro-activemeasures. This issue will be taken up at the next board meeting.

c. Fall Voters Meeting. Saturday, October 11, 2008 as been set as the date forthis meeting. Location and agenda is to be announced.

4. Adjournment:The meeting was adjourned at 5:16 PM. The August meeting will be at DavidBells residence on August 10th at 3:00 PM.
