The boa is classified as a reptile because…• It is cold blooded.• It breathes through
lungs.• It is an unusual
reptile because most snakes give birth to eggs. The boa has live births.
Appearance
• Some boa constrictor are 3 meters long. That is about 9 feet long.
• A boa constrictor wouldn’t try to eat anything as big as a person.
What a boa constrictor eats and how much it weighs.
• A boa eats birds, monkeys, wild pigs, bats, and other small animals. It is a reptile and has fangs to eat meat.
• The boa can be about 100 lbs. Most boas are between 6 – 14 feet long. The longest one found was 18 feet long.
How the boa finds food and what it looks like.
• Boas kill by constricting (squeezing) the prey until it can no longer breathe.
• Their bodies can be tan, green, red, or yellow.
