We were presented with a challenge and an opportunity to develop something for Kathy Hepinstall’s new book Blue Asylum.We had to get buzz going for the book’s publishing in April.

There was raw emotion, relatable thoughts and an enticing love triangle between the three main characters: Iris, Ambrose and the doctor. Each of them were writing to different friends or family members confiding in them with their stories and inner thoughts specifically about their feelings towards one another.

These were hand and typed-written letters that were aged and folded in appropriate 19th century fashion. They were then bundled together and sent to 50 galleys and posted on the Houghton Mifflin website.
