1. Blu-ray Disc Association asked SONY to act as a License Entity since the commencement of BD Format Logo License in 2005.

2. From October 1, 2007, all BD Format Logo License activities have been taken over by the Blu-ray Disc Association.

Programs to get BD Formats Specifications

Amended and Restated BD-ROM Format 2.0 Logo and License Agreement

- Term: Indefinite until terminated by either party.

- Fee: Free of Charge

- Rights: Usage of Blu-ray Disc Logo limited to promotion and advertisement of BD products and technology. BD Logo also can be used for packages, cases, boxes for BD products and free give-away promotion materials.

- Obligations: To comply with the BD Logo usage as described inBD Logo Guideline to be supplied.

3. BD Logo License Agreement (LLA )

-Term : 5 years

- Fee : US$ 3,000 (Annual Basis)

- Rights: Usage of Blu-ray Disc LogoUsage of Region Playback Control (RPC) LogoThird Party Beneficiary Right

- Obligations: Region coded media shall not be further replicated for suchcountries after the expiration of such period (12 months after suchmedia was replicated for the first time).

-Term : 5 years

- Fee : US$ 500 (Annual Basis)

- Rights: Usage of Blu-ray Disc LogoUsage of Region Playback Control (RPC) Logo

- Obligations: Region coded media shall not be further replicated for suchcountries after the expiration of such period (12 months after suchmedia was replicated for the first time).

Step1 :

After reviewing Application form for completeness and accuracy, send a receipt mail with a copy of the agreement.

Sign two Blu-ray License Agreements and send one complete copy along with an invoice.

Step3 :

Payment. (within 30 days after the effective date)

Confirm receipt of full payment. Send Specifications and necessary documents.

Step4 :

Receive Specifications and documents. Sign the receipt send it back.

Step2 :

Review and sign two copies of the agreement and send back to BDA License Office by courier..

7. Verification (3)


• Test Centers are “controlled” by the BD Compliance Committee (BD CC)– Application of new TC to be approved by the CC Verification Service Group

– Before approval by the BD CC, a full audit of the Candidate TC is done, using well defined audit procedures.

– Testing Centres are using the same procedures for product verification

– Training sessions for the correct use of Test Tools have been established

– Ensures high quality of the BD TC’s

8. Other information for “BD-ROM Licensee”


• BDA considers seriously to keep BD products’compatibility in the market.

- BDA has assigned “Enforcement Officer/Office”.

- BDA achieves regular market audit for BD products.

- If BDA will find non-compliant products by the audit, BDA instructs necessary actions to such licensees following the FLLA.

� BDA expects all licensees have understood correctly the formats and introduction of format compliant products to the market.
