“Size Matters”

Presented by: Robert Maurer, PhDProvidence Family Medicine

Thursday, April 30 6:00pm - 8:30pmThe Centennial Hotel (dinner included)

As the Director of Behavioral Sciences for Providence Family Medicine and a faculty member with the University of Washington School of Medicine, Dr. Maurer has studied how individuals, families, and organizations sustain their excellence in health, relationship, and work. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Medicine. His work as a clinical psychologist has resulted in the development of an extensive series of programs designed to meet the challenges of building and sustaining excellence and well being.

Motivating patients to make positive life changes is challenging and can be frustrating. Making life style improvements may be surprisingly easy if we offer multiple strategies for patients to choose from. This program draws from several prospective studies and a rapidly growing body of research demonstrating the power of using very small steps to achieve major life changes. The role of encouraging specific types of small steps in health, relationships, and practice management will be explored.

Advanced registration required: $55 per person; couples welcome.
