Poetry Time!

In class we have already learned how to write an acrostic poem. Can you remember the rules for an acrostic poem? Watch this video to remind yourself,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gVOeA7aqM0

Your challenge is to make your own acrostic poem. You can use any word you like but if you would like to borrow an idea from me here are some suggestions;

Numeracy and MathsNumeracy

Oh no! Mr Whoops has also been practising his four number processes, he has completed 10 calculations. Work out his score out of 10. If he got any wrong can you fix them?

7 + 8 = 16 2 x 4 = 1020 – 9 = 11 2 + 13 = 1514 2 = 6

(remember we read this by saying 14 shared between 2 groups makes)

16 – 2 = 18

3 x 3 = 9(remember we read this by saying 3

groups of 3 makes)

10 2 = 5

6 + 13 = 19 17 – 6 = 10

Number Talks

We are going to use Number Splats this week. Look at the first picture of a dot pattern and say how many dots there are and how you counted them. Then look at the second picture, it is the same dot pattern but a splat has covered some of the dots up. How many have been covered up? How do you know?

GARDEN SUNSHINE INDOORS PLAYING

As always we have to follow a Success Criteria, in class we usually try to make this together. Remember a Success Criteria is a checklist that helps us remember the tools we need to produce a good quality piece of work. Here is a SC that we have used before for writing acrostic poems.

When you have completed your poem use the pink and green circles to check off if you have/have not included each SC in your poem.

Maths

We are going to focus on using our problem solving skills.Have you ever completed a Sodoku Puzzle? The idea is that you are given a set of numbers (in this case the numbers 1 – 4). The grid has some numbers already filled in. You have to make sure each row and

Draw a picture of a made up creature on a piece of paper, do not show your partner! Then using only words describe your

creature to your partner. As you describe your creature your partner

has to draw it. The better your description is the more

chance your partner will draw a creature similar to yours.

Share your pictures with each other. Have fun!

each column of the grid has the numbers 1 – 4 in them (you are not allowed to repeat a number in a row or column). Good luck!

Please see the attachment on the blog for this week’s Article Of The Week from

Topic – My Healthy Body

Inside our bodies we have a skeleton and organs.

Our skeleton is made up of lots of hard bones and it gives our body structure and it protects

our organs.

Our organs are the inside parts of our body which do jobs that keep us alive.
