The
definiton of
urban
cash/food
nexus is
where the
systems
interact
with one
another.
Almost as
if they are
connected
through
circles, like

For
instance, if
urban
cash was
put into a
situation,
food nexus
will be
influenced
by urban
cash no
matter
what
because
they are
connected.
For
example,
the
precipitatio
n system.
Without
one
another,
the whole
things will
fall apart.
This
relates to
nutrition
transition
by how
broad and
how much
areas both
topics
cover.
Nutrition
transition
involves
topics
such as
economic,
demograp

epidemiolo

changes.
Urban
cash/food
nexus
relates
because it
covers
various
cateogorie
s that
make up
the whole
system. As
though
nuttrition
transition
does the
same.
Based on
my diet, if I
had to
frame
myself into
the history
and
present
state of
the global
food
system, I
would say
my
location
would be
for the
present at
the
consumer
side
buying into
the
industry
and for the
history,
would be
agriculture
and
farming
side. I feel
to the
degree my

the

However,
the

I think I
would
choose the

honestly, I
love Indian

Indian

Analysis on my Daily Intake:
I approximately eat about 2200 calories per day. I do not eat as much meat as I used to due to the fact that I don’t live at home anymore. Preparing meat takes some time, which I don’t have as much of since being in college. I would estimate that I eat about 3 oz of meat, usually white meat. Red meats tend to be more expensive and definitely may create a dent on your wallet! Plus, meats such as turkey and chicken are lower in fat and are leaner meats. Those qualities pertain to the reason why I prefer white meats over red meats
When comparing myself to the United States, I in fact eat about 400 more than an average American woman my age. According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2010, the reported consumption of food of a 19 year old man averages to 2,640 calories versus a 19 year old woman at 1,785 calories. This data is derived from national survey and self reported data. The content of food that an average American would eat differs a lot to other countries. Actually, in fact the content of food exemplifies actual nutrition versus how or how little calories were ingested. The significance of what kinds of food are being consumed is considered more important than the number of calories. The largest portions that make up most of the average diet are dairy and vegetables. When gazing upon the meat portion, it has been reported that it makes up a whopping 110 lbs of red meat, which is pretty high. Content of food is making American larger even though calorie intake is decreasing. This fact alone proves the power of nutrition of certain foods. Surprisingly, over the past decade, US adults have been eating steadily fewer calories despite the increasing rates of obesity.

Every Day Activity:
Although processed foods are convenient and easily attainable, I try to stay away even though it would be especially difficult since being a college student. All college students do is find what ever is convenient to eat! In the picture above displays change is possible: South Koreans ate 300 percent more fruit and 10 percent more vegetables in 2009 compared to 1980 concerted government-led campaigns. Most of the food that is included in my diet are not processed. I tend to buy fresh produce and cook it all into a dish. Yes, it takes time, but its much tastier and healthier. Lots of food that is processed include un-natural ingredients that many people are not aware of. They most of the time cannot even pronounce the names of these ingredient names! This is why I prefer to buy raw produce and create a meal out of it so that I know exactly what is in it. It is nice to know what your putting into your body!
One activity I really enjoy doing on a daily basis is traveling to different cities to try new foods and also to search or locations to eat specific foods. It is quite an adventure to me. In the picture below displays my experience of finally discovering the best ramen I had ever tasted. The restaurant is called Shin-Shen Gumi in Little Tokyo. Of course I cannot go out everyday, but I always try something new in the kitchen if I am at home.
