Inside the property is very spacious and has a layout that is ideal for family life, and a number of the rooms are beautifully cross lit by windows overlooking the gardens, so the natural light that floods in really enhances the feeling of space”

“The grounds extend to more than three-and-half acres, split almost evenly between the front and the back of the property,” continues the owner. They are mainly laid to lawn with many mature trees and, of course, a landing stage onto the river. It’s a lovely and secluded garden.

“Although I am downsizing somewhat,” says the owner, “I was keen to stay within Godmanchester and have been fortunate enough to retain similar views across the open fields and the river at my new home. However, I shall certainly miss the imposing aspect and sense of space that Bleckly House provides.”*


I love the views from the large windows, particularly down to the river. On many summer evenings it has been wonderful to be able to walk down to the boat and take a trip out on the spur of the moment.
