Collage Making: Various festivals celebrated during the winter season were depicted through art and

craft work.

Children’s Day: The students were given gifts on children’s day followed by an interesting craft activi-

ty.

Learning beyond the text: To sensitize the students about the deteriorating air condition in Delhi and

ways to combat the same were taken up as a class discussion followed by a worksheet on the same.

Paper bags using newspaper were made by the students as an extension of the Hindi lesson—बड़े काम का थैला . This activity promoted the use of eco friendly products.

Classes I & II

Guru Purab Celebrations: The students decorated the symbol of Ek Onkar through paper tearing

and pasting activity.

Enactment of the lesson: ‘The Mice And The Cat’ by the students using props.

Experiential Learning: The students were shown different edible parts of plants. e.g. roots-carrots,

flower-broccoli etc along with samples of various spices from the kitchen.

Life Skill Activity: Activity of threading the beads to learn the concept of skip counting by 2s and 3s

Children’s Day: The students of classes III –V were given gifts to mark Children’s Day. A video

on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru whose birthday is celebrated on this day was also shown.

Special Assemblies:

• An informative assembly was held by the students of class V G on “ The White Revolution”

where the students showcased the life and achievements of Mr Verghese Kurien,.

• The need and importance of compassion was very beautifully presented by the students of class

IV F vide a special assembly on ‘Tolerance’.

CLASSES III-V

As per the guidelines of the DOE, the students

of classes IV & V watched the live streaming

of the inauguration of Mask Distribution by

the Chief Minister Shri. Arvind Kejriwal at

RPVV, Civil Lines.

Constitution Day: The 70th Constitution

Day of India was observed by taking an

oath to uphold the dignity and honour of the

Constitution of India.

Workshops:

For Students:

• A workshop for class III on ‘English Conversation’ was conducted by Ms. Jayshree Mehta

from Times of India.

For Teachers:

• A workshop was conducted by the Principal , Ms. Minakshi Kushwaha on the National Cur-

riculum Framework.

• Ms. Kanchan and Ms. Monisha Bhowmik attended a workshop on ‘Story Telling As A Teach-

ing Strategy’ at Springdales School, Pusa Road. The resource person was Mr Roger Jenkins,

a renowned story teller. The staff members conducted the same workshop for the Junior

School teachers.

• Junior School teachers attended a workshop at QRG Hospital , Faridabad on handling medical

emergencies in school.

• Ms. Swagata Mukherjee and Ms. Debjani Das Gupta attended a workshop at Bluebells Inter-

national School on ‘Difficulties Faced By Children In Learning Math In The Early Years’. It

was conducted by Mr. Sanjay Raghav. The staff members conducted the same workshop for

the Junior School Mathematics teachers.

• Publishing House ‘Blue Print Publications’ organised a workshop in Mount Columbus School

on ‘Teaching Hindi In An Interesting Way’. The resource person was Dr. Promila Chopra.

The workshop was attended by the Junior School Hindi teachers who also conducted a work-

shop for the Junior School Hindi teachers.
