Winter is almost here and the Bottoms have change on the horizon.
If you live in the neighborhood, you might have heard of the
upcoming sewer rehabilitation project. This will affect Shelby
Bottoms to a great degree. Look for clearing of some forested areas,
heavy machinery, construction, temporary road and trail closures,
bypass piping on the ground, and what will seem to be a big mess.
But have patience! This keeps our land and water clean and free
from sewage leakage and overflow into water bodies. Metro Water
Services is working to make our water better! For more info, please

Accidents, destructive weather, and terrorism happen. Make sure you
know how to handle an accident if the worst were to happen. Join our
guests for a hands-on workshop to learn how to save life and limb during
the critical minutes or hours before ambulance/hospital arrival.
Very few first aid programs actually address the issues of providing
emergency care in a setting where 911 is overwhelmed or not immediately
reachable. In this 2 day course, classroom instruction and Q&A are
interwoven with practical work and problem-solving exercises. Hands-on
experience during scenarios comprise ~50% of class. You will earn the
SOLO Wilderness First Aid 2-year certification, approved by the ACA,
