DESCRIPTION

John Zamierowski, Business Development Manager, Cisco By 2022, there will be 50 billion things connecting to the internet in a world of 8 billion people. Use case studies have shown that smart connected cities, smart stadiums, smart grids, smart connected healthcare and patient monitoring smart factories, precision retail, and more will contribute to $19T in potential "Value at Stake" across 5 main factors and 50 use ases. This trend is also driving a new approach to our traditional IT architectures. Technology trends including cloud, mobile, big data coming from the Internet of Everything. Examples will include: how to go from sensors to the bottom line, the economics and dollar savings achieved by usage-based auto insurance, and the savings GE attained by using 7000 sensors on their locomotives. This presentation will focus on the "Why" and "How" of big data, with a concentration on developments in sensor technology.

Facebook and Cisco Let Brick-&-Mortars Demand Customers Check-In to Get Wi-Fi

Those who oblige are dropped on the

business’ Facebook page, and their

anonymous, aggregate demographic info is

passed to the merchant

Consider this:

1. Avg. value of a check-in: $134 - $174

2. Cisco Meraki study of 29 retailers = 4x check-in increase as

average
