The concrete temperature requirements stated above shall not supersede any more restrictive temperatures specifications. For concrete ordered during hot weather, Big D Concrete will require the purchaser to order ice to meet concrete temperature specifications. Technical Data SheetRiteks™ Construction Admixture Chemicals

General DescriptionSYAD™ 75 is a retarding admixture recommended for all concrete where extended setting characteristics, particularly in hot weather are desired. SYAD 75 delays time of set to accommodate long haul times, or facilitate placement and finishing during hot weather concreting. Primary ApplicationsSYAD 75 was designed to be used where an economical and effective retarding is required to offset the accelerating effects of high ambient temperature concreting. SYAD 75 will delay initial set times allowing proper placement and finishing without cold joints in hot weather conditions.

Features / Advantages• Delays setting characteristics

• Improves workability and finishability

• Excellent retarding properties

How to Use / DosageMixing: SYAD 75 should not come into contact with dry cement or other admixtures until they are mixed.

Dosage: Rates will vary depending on the materials used, ambient conditions and the requirements of a specific project. For best results, add SYAD 75 to the water and aggregate mix at between 1.5-3 fl. oz of 100 lbs. of cementitious materials. Due to variations in concrete materials, job site conditions and applications, dosages outside of the recommended range may be required. In such cases, contact your local Riteks Construction Chemical Representative.

Note: SYAD 75 does not contain calcium chloride or any chloride-based components and is non-corrosive to reinforced, galvanized floor/roof systems or prestressing steel.

SpecificationsConforms to: ASTM C 494 Type B

Technical Data SheetRiteks™ Construction Admixture Chemicals

General DescriptionHydraStop™ is a hydration stabilizer which helps maintain slump and proper set times of freshly produced concrete over extended haul times and increased ambient temperatures. HydraStop is used to offset issues caused by extended haul times, excess drum revolutions or the effects of temperature and time. HydraStop is especially helpful in the summer months when hydration is accelerated due to higher ambient and mix temperatures. HydraStop aids in controlling concrete temperature when a maximum mix temperature is specified. Concrete performance properties are maintained while exceeding the requirements of ASTM, AASHTO and CRD specifications.

How to Use/DosageFollow these instructions carefully:

1. After fresh concrete has been thoroughly mixed, determine temperature of the concrete.

2. Determine the total cementitious content per yard of the concrete mix design. This is the total weight of the cement, fly ash, and all other pozzolans in the mix loaded into the mixer truck.

3. Calculate the dosage per cubic yard using the table on this page.

4. After HydraStop has been added; mix truck for 2 min. at fast mixing speed and 5 min. at normal mixing speed.

5. Complete addition of HydraStop within 15 minutes of initial contact of mixing water with dry cementitious materials.

6. Once mixing is finished, proceed to job site with mixer revolving as slow as possible.

*Extended Haul Dosage Chart - oz. per 100 lbs. of cementitious

Technical Data SheetRiteks™ Construction Admixture Chemicals

General DescriptionAdvanSet is an accelerating admixture designed to advance the normal set time of concrete. This calcium chloride based admixture is multi purpose as it improves workability, compressive and flexural strengths. This material is compatible with allof the Riteks admixtures including the high range and mid range water reducers.

AdvanSet was designed to be used where and economical and effective set accelerator is required to reduce set times and increase early compressive strength especially in cold weather concreting. AdvanSet may be used for the following applications: Ready-Mix, precast concrete, concrete blocks and stepping stones.

Features / Advantages• Reduces initial set time

• Increases concrete density

• Lowers construction costs

• Increased early strength

• Minimizes separation and bleedwater How to Use / DosageDO NOT DISPENSE ON TO DRY CEMENT.For best accelerating results, add AdvanSet to the water and aggregate mix. Allow mixing at normal speed for 5 minutes before dispensing. Dosage rate will vary with each mix design based on types of cement, aggregates, ratios, etc. This admixture is used within the range of 16-64 fl. oz. per 100 lbs. cwt. Adjust water content accordingly when used at dosages higher than 16 fl. oz per 100 lbs. cwt.

Due to variations in concrete materials, job site conditions and applications, dosages outside of the recommended range may be required. In such cases, contact your local Riteks Construction Chemical Representative.
