Definition of Family Well-being

Family well-being is an emergent state in which

children’s physical, mental, spiritual, and social

functioning are developed and nurtured in the

context of familial and other influences. It is

characterized by an individual and family

position of strength through esteem, agency,

resourcefulness, comprehension, and hope.

Theory of Change

If we create the conditions necessary to advance family well being by adding nurturing elements to

the ecosystem, we will improve the long term quality of the soil where families are rooted. Our goal

with this project is to identify those nurturing elements and then design and test new experiences.

Family Well-Being is not a destination or

‘perfect’ state, but rather a desire for forward

progress.
