SPOTLIGHT 2015 was a spectacular evening celebrating Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School and our special BT community. Following a sumptuous VIP dinner reception, Mrs. Zipora Schorr set the evening’s celebratory tone, noting how much respect the school has earned in the past 30 years since the High School began. Rabbi Mitchell Wohlberg gave a most fitting tribute to honorees, Ronnie and Rachelle Silverstein. Following a breath-taking reprise of ”One Day More“ from the cast of our High School production of Les Miserables, the sold-out audience of 1,600 laughed non-stop at Howie Mandel's performance...and have not stopped talking about it since!

Thank you to our many generous supporters, to SPOTLIGHT honorees Ronnie and Rachelle Silverstein, and the evening's chairs, Jill Spector and Joel Cohn, along with all the volunteers and staff who made SPOTLIGHT 2015 an unforgettable and successful evening. Thanks to their efforts, BT raised more than $850,000 for our Scholarship Fund, making a Jewish education possible for more than 40% of our students. Diane Seegull, BT Team Captain

“ABOVE AND BEYOND” is the story of a group of Jewish American pilots who, in 1948, smuggled planes out of the U.S., trained behind the Iron Curtain in Czechoslovakia, and flew for Israel in its War of Independence. This story of sacrifice and renewed Jewish pride is the first that brings together new interviews as well as stunning aerial footage to present a fascinating, little-known tale filled with heart, heroism and high-flying chutzpah. (87 minutes)

It wasn’t their country, but they made it their war.
