the gardensMount Pleasant’s beautiful award winning gardens offer the perfect photographic opportunities for your professional photographer, whatever time of the year. From the colourful Spring flowers,through the full colour of Summer, the golden moments of Autumn and the snowy white Winterthey will provide a wonderful setting. Enhanced by a romantic bridge with a cascading fountain in the background and the ornamental pagoda, the gardens will bring you everlasting memories.

the receptionFollowing the welcome drinks and official photographs, the Bride and Groom will be asked to greet their guests as they enter the room for the wedding breakfast. Traditionally they will be joined by theirparents, chief bridesmaid and best man. As the happy couple enter the room, guests will be asked tostand and provide a warm welcome. The meal and any drinks will be served, and this usually takes just over one hour. The Bride and Groom will be asked to cut the cake to enable guests to take aphotograph of this special moment. After coffee is served the speeches will take place. These arenormally started by the Bride's Father, who will toast the Bride and Groom. The Bridegroom willrespond with a toast to the Bridesmaids. Finally the Best Man will bring the speeches to a close.

accommodationOffering some of the best accommodation in the country, opulently furnished and individual,including four poster beds, a five poster bed, mud beds, half tester beds, sledge beds andcontemporary bathrooms including jacuzzi and spa baths. All with free satellite TV and freewireless broadband access. A complimentary room for the Bride and Groom, along withpreferential accommodation rates for your guests will be available. After a good nights sleep, start your day the Yorkshire way, with our award winning breakfast.

entertainmentShould you require a disco for your evening reception, our resident DJ will be available to providethe music you request. Other forms of entertainment may be arranged with prior consent from thehotel. Bands must supply comprehensive insurance cover and electrical certification. We are ableto recommend reliable companies that would provide other forms of entertainment such as amagician, chocolate fountain and caricaturist. To bring your day to an explosive and colourfulconclusion, a firework finale may be arranged in the grounds by our approved fireworks company.

civil ceremoniesAll of our suites are licensed for civil ceremonies.

Having confirmed the date withMount Pleasant Hotel the happycouple should contact the localRegistrar’s office.

01302 364922Couples must confirm that theRegistrar is available to conduct the ceremony on the day and time in question. This may be done up to 12 months in advance of the marriage and should be done as soon as possible.

The hotel will quote a room hirecharge to hold the ceremony, and the Registrar will make a charge forattending the hotel to perform theceremony.

The William James SuiteThe William James Suite with it’s marquee design provides the perfect setting andcan cater for up to 150 guests for a wedding breakfast, and 200 for an eveningreception. Tastefully decorated with doors opening onto a walled garden ideal fordrinks and photographs.

Thomas StocksThomas Stocks could be the setting for your civil ceremony, a reception area tothe William James Suite or a private dining area for up to 48 guests.

Alice MaudAlice Maud provides a more intimate setting. This room with a feature fireplace issuitable for up to 36 guests.

The OrangeryThe Orangery which adjoins the William James Suite, is the perfect setting for thepresentation of your evening buffet, or all weather in door barbeque.

The Garden RestaurantThe Garden Restaurant has been designed for maximum comfort and relaxation.Overlooking the hotel’s garden area, it is available for your day time reception forup to 60 guests for a seated meal and 80 for a more informal buffet set up. Thiswonderfully ambient setting is an ideal alternative to our main function suites.
