SITE ANALYZER is also known as ‘ SITE MASTER’SITE ANALYZER is same like VSWR meter , power meter etc. WHAT WE PERFORM BY USING SITE ANALYZER?1.VSWR MEASUREMENT2.RETURN LOSS MEASUREMENT3.CABLE LOSS MEASUREMENT4.INSERTION LOSS MEASUREMENT5.FORWARD POWER MEASUREMENT6.REFLECTED POWER MEASUREMENT
MANUFACTURERS:BIRD ELECTRONICS , USAANRITSU , JAPAN
AUTHORISED DISTRIBUTER IN INDIA ARE:1.AIMIL LTD. DELHI ( BIRD ELECTRONICS)2.MEERA AGENCY , DELHI ( ANRITSU)
ADVANTAGES1) It can measure VSWR with respect to frequency.2) It can measure VSWR with respect to distance.3) It can give a graphical representation of the measurement.4) It can give multiple measurement at once.5) It can save measured traces( up to 500traces).6) We can export and import traces from site analyzer.7) It can measure the VSWR for a frequency range starting from 780-2500 Mhz. *It can be expanded up to 6000 MHz by upgrading the software.8) It can give a print out of the measured trace.9) We can recall the old trace and compare it with new trace.10) No requirement of BTS for measurement of :-a. VSWR .b. Return loss.c. Cable loss.d. Insertion loss.

HOW TO HANDLE SITE ANALYZER?1) Put on the site analyzer by pressing on/off button and wait for few seconds.2) Site analyzer model no. ,serial no. ,and operating frequency range are appeared on display
as shown in fig (a).3) After that screen resumes to the mode in which the site analyzer was lastly switched off.
The 3 modes are :-a) Measure match mode:-It is used to measure VSWR, Return loss, cable loss & insertion loss.b) Fault location mode:-It is used to localize the fault only.c) Measure power mode:-It is used to measure the forward power and the reflected power.*Suppose site analyzer was switched off in fault location mode.4) Mode is fault location, so the screen changes to,

7) Look at the screen carefully and try to figure out freq. scale, right now it is (780-2500)Mhz. But we are using GSM 900 band (890-960)Mhz. So we have to change the frequency range acc. to our requirement.
*Select the frequency range acc. to port of antenna. 8) To set the frequency press “CONFIGURATION” button, now the screen changes to,

NOTE:- (a) By using the calibration process, we set the internal loss of site master to zero, it means VSWR of site master goes ‘1’ at zero meter distance.
(b) It is better to calibrate the site analyzer at each and every site. (c) To calibrate the site analyzer we use a calibration kit. ** The calibration kit contain three connectors:- (a) open connector (b) short connector (c) load connector.

• ** Definitely the VSWR at peaks is high i.e. greater than 1.30 but we want to know the value of VSWR as well as frequency on which VSWR is high, so for that we require a “MARKER” to read the value accurately.
• Note:- (a) In the above graph there are 2 or 3 high peaks which means VSWR is high there, but we are not able to give the perfect value of VSWR as well as frequency.
• (b) If we put a marker on the graph, our problem can be resolved.• (c) In the site analyzer we can use up to 6 markers simultaneously on the screen but any one of those marker will
be in ‘ACTIVE’ mode, rest are in background.• (d) By using these markers we can take six readings of VSWR simultaneously.30. Press ‘MARKER’ button, screen changes to ,

33. Now the VSWR of the transmission line is ‘1.39’ , which is beyond the acceptable limit i.e. ‘1.30’.34. It means there is a fault in the transmission line. To rectify the fault , first of all we have to localize the fault.35. To check where is the fault, we have to change the mode of site analyzer from measure match to fault location.36. Change the mode and press the ‘AUTO SCALE’. Now the screen changes to,
