Diversification: Public real estate has provided a diversification benefit that has enabled investors to reduce the volatility of their overall portfolio without paying a cost in the form of lower returns.
Listed Real Estate Equities Provide Optimal Exposure to Real Estate:Correlation and risk-adjusted return metrics demonstrate that listed equity REITs provide optimal exposure to the real estate asset class according to CEM Benchmarking (Asset Allocation and Fund Performance of Defined Benefit Pension Funds in the United States, November 1, 2017).
