THE HEART OF THE CITY
In the central region are some architectural treasures from the beginning of the city, such as the Liberty Palace, former headquarter of State Government. In 2010, the historic buildings of the Secretaries of State became part of theCircuito Liberdade, around Liberty Square, considered the largest cultural circuit in Brazil. Plural venue, connects people and promotes interaction with historical and artistic collections, museums, cultural centers, library, planetarium, spaces for workshops, coffee shops, restaurants and shops.
Afonso Pena Avenue is one of the symbols of the capital of Minas Gerais and interconnects natural and cultural attractions. Crafts are another highlight. The richness and originality of the pieces can be seen at the Centro deArtesanato Mineiro (handcraft center) and the Feira de Artesanato da Afonso Pena, the largest art and craftsopen air fair in Latin America.

CITY OF FOOTBALL
Belo Horizonte provides an ideal environment for sports. The stadiums and training centers offer the most modern infrastructures in Brazil, as well as a high-level hospital network and an international-renowned sports medical center.
MINEIRÃO
The Governador Magalhães Pinto Stadium, known as the Mineirão, underwent a complete modernization and was transformed into an international standard multi-purpose arena. Located in the Pampulha region, next to the artworks of Oscar Niemeyer, the stadium has a capacity for 62 thousand fans. At the ‘Giant of Pampulha’, as it is also called, an esplanade was built to hold events and shows that can hold up to 65 thousand people. The whole complex has universal accessibility.
MUSEU BRASILEIRO DO FUTEBOL
Like major stadiums around the world, Mineirão has a museum dedicated to football, with the proposal of being an extra attraction for the sports public. Visiting the museum is a way to go through the history of the sport and experience the excitement and emotions that only football can provide.
INDEPENDÊNCIA
The Raimundo Sampaio Stadium, better known as Arena Independência, is a multipurpose venue prepared to host both football events and cultural events in general. The stadium has 25,000 seats. It is located in the eastern part of the city with easy access.
