Hello People!
Welcome Summer! It came a bit early this year, so we have more time to enjoy it! Take advantage of the longer days and warmer evenings. On Saturday morning the Farmer’s Market offer fresh fruits and vegetables, every Thursday there is live music at Washington Park and your senior center is bustling with activity!
Come join us for lunch or dinner on Thursday evening. Try your hand at one of the many card games we play. Have you played chair volleyball yet? We also have various arts and crafts groups that would love to have you join them.
Whatever you decide to do, just get out and enjoy! There is something for everyone! Make the best of every day!
Cheers! Kathy and Dawn

Happy Birthday America! What’s a
better way to celebrate the 4th of July than with an Ice Cream Social! And to top it off –The Red Raven Polka Band will be performing ! Sign up for the noon lunch, and stay for the party! All the action takes place on Monday, July 1st at 1:00 pm.
Big Beach Bash! The Sun and the Sand
and a Drink in your Hand! You won’t want to miss our summer party! Lots of yummy treats and a cold drink to help you beat the
heat! The party kicks off on Wednesday,
July 18th at 10:00 am. Christina Coulson will sing at 11:00 am.
Good Fat vs. Bad Fat There are lots of fats
and oils on the market. Is coconut oil healthy? What’s the difference between extra virgin and regular olive oil? Michaela Howard RD, LMNT with ENOA will discuss the difference, and the best options for you. You can listen and learn on Thursday, July 19th at 11:15 am.
Alzheimer’s is the most common form of
dementia, a general term for memory loss and other intellectual abilities serious enough to
interfere with daily life. Nurse Theresa will be here
to discuss this progressive disease on Tuesday, July 3rd at 11:15 am.
Parking Woes – Don’t get TowedWe all know that on some days it is hard to find a parking spot close to the center. Keeping that in mind, please try to park within the lines, stay close to the curb and try not to leave 5-6 feet between the car ahead of you. Make sure you are not blocking resident or commercial driveways. The companies have called the police in the past and you can be towed and/or ticketed. If you are fortunate enough to have a pretty good spring in step, consider parking a bit down the street so those with health challenges can park a little closer.
Set your alarm and get Wakin’ –it’s time for Eggs and Bacon! Don’t
hit the snooze button! You won’t want to miss out on our delicious hot breakfast! Be the first to sign up for bacon and eggs! Join us on Tuesday, July 24th at 9:00 am.
Get Fit! Don’t let summer’s heat keep
you from staying active if you can’t walk outside. Join us on Monday at 11:00 for Exercise Class with Bellevue Physical Therapy. We also offer Tai Chi on Wednesday with Brenda and Fridays with Paula. Both Tai Chi classes are at 11:15 am.
What’s the buzz at the senior center? If you want to hear first hand about what is coming up at the center, then attend our Senior Advisory Forum. It’s held the 3rd Thursday of each month at 10:30 am. Sign up for lunch at noon. We discuss the previous month’s activities and plan ideas for the upcoming months.
Panera Bread You may have noticed that
we have been receiving less Panera. They are under new management and are baking less. We are very fortunate and grateful that we still are receiving cookies and pastries from them for our morning and afternoon snacks.

Family Fare
½ Way There! We have been collecting Family Fare receipts for over a year! Once we collect 150,000 points, the center will receive a check for $1000.00!!!! As of June, we finally surpassed the halfway mark – 81,000 points. If your friends or family shop at Family Fare ask them if they will save their receipts for the center. They do need to sign up as a Family Fare YES card holder to accumulate points. They may already be a YES member. The center thanks you in advance for helping us earn our points quicker!
Booster MembershipThank you so much for supporting the Bellevue Senior Center by
being a Booster Member! Your contribution to the center is
greatly appreciated! If you enjoy coming to the center – whether
it is for a meals, parties, games, trips or just to socialize with
friends, then tell a friend about us! In order to keep the center
going, we need to continue to grow! The more people we have
spreading the word about our center the better. We strive to
continuing being the best senior center around! Thank you again
for your continued support!
