The growth of Amod Group of Industries has been phenomenal and the person behind it is the

company’s founder and CMD, Mr. R.M. Sukhatankar. He has been the guiding star for the group since inception and provides valuable insights in board meetings through his accumulation of wisdom since he started his career as a young engineer working at Larsen & Toubro in the early ‘70s.

The journey of Amod Group is indeed worth noting and it is through his principles of sheer grit, determination, perseverance and integrity that every individual who works at Amod Group feels proud of.

Coming from a family with no business experience and only jobs as the source of income, Mr. R.M. Sukhatankar took to the challenge

and wanted to be the different one. He wanted to be and has evidently become, The One.

Following in his footsteps, Mr. Chinmay Sukhatankar has taken Amod Group to the new level. He has expanded the vision and trans-formed the company and its culture with different internal initiatives of Lean, Focus on Training, hiring senior management team members, getting in technology, bringing in automation, integrating all systems, merging units for better control and working on forward and reverse integration with customer focus.

This has increased the good-will and brand image of the company with a stable and consistent growth.

• 1980: Mr.R.M.Sukatankar leaves a MNC job of a switchgear giant to start his journey towards his dreams. He starts his unit in a small Gala in the city of Mumbai with support of Family and Friends. The first shop of Thermoset Molding.

• 1984: After experiencing the capabilities, the existing customers offer to expand the facility in Ahmednagar for their new unit, rising to the opportunity, Mr R.M. Sukhatankar takes charge of the situation and begins the second unit for thermoset Molding.

• 1989: Understanding the need for in-house maintenance of Molds, he develops an in-house conventional Tool Maintenance facility in Mumbai.

• 1994: With a decade of experience by his side and a name that was now recognized with trust and quality, he decided to expand in Nasik.

• 1996: Having been involved in thermoset business of Electrical Switchgear and previous

experience the group decided to expand in product assembly for Switchgears. With a lot of perseverance and effort they developed a new team and started manufacturing in a new unit at Ahmednagar.

• 1998: A new era! Mr Chinmay Sukhatankar joins the family business and takes up the responsibility of Quality and Devlopment. It was his chance to learn the skills of the trade and be the fulcrum for growth. With great compassion he sets out to build the brand that focuses on the human touch in Leadership.

• 2001: The group set a second unit for thermosets in A’Nagar and diversified to Sheet Metal components.

• 2003: The group had to set up a second unit for thermosets in Nasik to be able to cater to the increasing customers and their volumes.

• 2004: The Amod group was offered yet another

new product in Switchgear but this time it was to be finished and delivered to the customer’s central warehousing and included managing the supply chain, production with outsourcing, testing, packing and logistics. This assignment gave a completely new dimension and challenge to its management skills.

• 2006: The new Switchgear product fetched huge demand. Fourth unit started in A’nagar and diversified into Turned components.

• 2008: The group makes A’nagar its base for all future expansions. With consent of customers, they restructured their 7 Units in Mumbai, Ahmednagar & Nasik into 4 units in Ahmednagar.

• 2009: Under the leadership of Mr. Chinmay Sukhatankar and his vision to have a culture of the victory of the human spirit with 100% involvement and best manufacturing practices to eliminate waste from the system, the group started its LEAN journey with national & international trainers for guidance.

• 2010: Tool maintenance facility upgraded to

Tool design and manufacturing facility. Added a range of CNC Machines and Design Softwares. A new team was hired to give a new dimension to its turnaround time.

• 2011: The group added 12,000 sq.ft. space to its facility for its Switchgear Assemblies

• 2013: Merged two of its Thermoset Moulding units into one. Increased focus on Marketing by participating in National Exhibitions and started thinking about PAN INIDIA.

• 2015: Participated in Plastindia with a JV for Raw Material Marketing for Core PAN INDIA. Started a permanent CSR activity which will promote Art.

• 2017: SAP is introduced as a dependable IT solution considering the Company Vision and Plans.

• 2018: Plastic Injection Machine added. Focus on Exports for Thermoset business and has an agency with a target of reaching 20% of total sales by 2020. Develop a strong Metrology setup in-house. Added 9000 sq.ft. work space. 08
