There is no more vital decision to make than to choose your child’s school. We understand this.

As a result we don’t just hand out enrolment forms for you to fill in. We would like to invite you to meet with us, discuss your hopes and aspirations for your child and help us to find out about their passions, talents and interests.

As an urban school in a semi-rural setting we have wide open spaces for children to run, play and explore. We pride ourselves on having a respectful, inclusive environment in which students are encouraged to support and care for one another.

The size of our school allows for a wide range of opportunities and pathways for our students, but also means that we know every child as an individual. We know that positive relationships are key in your child’s success and we promote this through our four learner dimensions.

Please take the opportunity to pop in and be shown around our amazing learning environment!

What do you want for your child’s future?

At Silverdale Normal School our mission ‘Making a Positive Difference’ drives every decision we make. We believe our purpose is to create self directed learners who know what makes them unique, what they are good at, what they need to work on and what steps they need to take to get there.

Students who are truly ‘In Charge’ of their learning.

At Silverdale Normal School we have a clear vision of what we would like to achieve.

This vision has been created after extensive consultation with school stakeholders - kindergartens, parents, students,

educational experts, local business and the major schools we contribute to, Berkley Middle School

and Hillcrest High School.

We understand that it is impossible to predict what it will be like for current learners in their futures and the knowledge that they will require, but we believe our learner dimensions outline the skills, values and dispositions that are essential for our learners to make a positive difference in their lives and

the lives of others.
