BECS prerequisites installation guide

The BECS prerequisites installation guide will help you install BECS prerequisites on your computer,

guiding you through the BECS prerequisites step by step. Depending on your hardware configuration,

the whole installation process of prerequisites will take about 30 minutes.

BECS Integrator Server and BECS Visual Architect requirements

BECS Integration Server hardware minimal requirements:

Processor: Intel Pentium 5 or higher (or equivalent from other vendors), at 2GHz or more, x86 or x64

platform

RAM: 4GB RAM

Disk space (SW installation): 500MB minimum

Disk space (application data): 10GB

Network: LAN Ethernet 100MB/s or faster

BECS Integration Server software requirements:

Operating system: Windows Server 2008/2008 R2/2012/2016 (x86 or x64 versions)

Other requirements: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (full profile) or higher including this, Internet

Information Services 6.0 or higher (depending on OS version) with ASP.NET 4.0, Microsoft Message

Queuing Service (part of the Windows Server installation, not installed by default), Microsoft Windows

Installer 4.5 or higher

System database: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 or higher (can be on different machine)

SAP (only if planned to connect): SAP GUI 7.20 or higher librfc32.dll installation required Development

Tools (Unicode RFC Libraries) installation required

Oracle (only if planned to connect): Oracle ODAC 11.2.0.1.2 with ODP.NET installed

Message Queuing Service (part of the Windows Server installation, not installed by default), Microsoft

Windows Installer 4.5 or higher



Designer environment: Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Integrated Shell (part of the EP installation),

Microsoft Visual Studio DSL package (part of the EP installation), Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SDK (part

of the EP installation)

SAP (only if planned to connect): SAP GUI 7.20 or higher librfc32.dll installation required, Development

Tools (Unicode RFC Libraries) installation required

Oracle (only if planned to connect): Oracle ODAC 11.2.0.1.2 with ODP.NET installed

This guide assumes a working internet connection is available. Please, check that your system meets the

minimum requirements.

Software prerequisites

First of all, you need to have all prerequisites installed. For successful installation of BECS it is necessary

to have installed these prerequisites:

.NET Framework 4.7.2, .NET Framework FX 4.0.

MSMQ (local or remote)

IIS 6 Web Server

MS SQL Server (local or remote instance)

MS SQL Server Management Studio

Microsoft Visual Studio Shell 2010 (Isolated)

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SDK

Visual C++

The installation guide gives instructions for general settings and prerequisites.

The whole installation process will require a restart of your computer several times.

The screens can vary on systems and browser used at your side. The screens can vary on systems and

browser used at your side. For example, the screens can be different using Server Management

Dashboard in MS Server environment for adding roles and features. In Windows 10 operational system

you can select the Windows Features window (Control Panel) to see more info about settings or put a

check in the box to enable the program. In case you do not know which Windows version you have, and

how to enter the Adding roles and Features Wizard, check it at Microsoft Support website.

Step 1 – Adding roles and features

Open the Control panel / Programs and turn on Windows features.

Tick all of the needed Windows features and make sure all of them are turned on according to the

picture on next page (.NET Framework, Web Server – IIS, ASP.NET, Message Queuing).



Click on “Let Windows Update download the files for you”.

After download, applying changes and completed changes close the window.



Right-click in the next step to “Manage” in “This PC” from the left menu.

Then click on “Private Queues” in “Message Queueing”.



Right-click in the center sheet of Private Queues and choose “New / Private Queue”.

Add name to your new private queue and then click on “OK”.



A new Private Queue has been created:

Right-click on the new private queue in the center sheet and choose “Properties”.



Choose “Security” in the Properties window.

Click on “Everyone” in Group or user names:

Click on “Allow” for all fields in Permissions table and press “OK” when finished.

Step 2 - MS SQL Server Installation

Choose the SQL Server 2017 Media from the BECS prerequisites installation package.



Ren “Setup” from “Evaluation_ENU” folder.

Click “Installation” from the new window.



Select “New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation”.

Select “Specify a free edition”, then press “Next”.



Accept the license terms and click “Next”.

When installation passed, click “Next”.



Choose “Database Engine Services” in Features window, then click “Next”.

Click “Next” in the Instance Configuration window.



Click “Next” in Server Configuration window.

Choose “Mixed Mode” for Authentication, fill in your and confirm password. Then press “Add Current

User” at the bottom of Database Engine Configuration window and click “Next”.



Click “Next” for SQL Server installation.

When the installation is completed, click “Close”.



Step 3 - MS SQL Server Management Studio Installation

Choose SSMS Setup ENU for Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio installation from BECS

prerequisites installation package.

Click “Install” to begin in the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio window.



Click “Close” when setup completed.

Step 4 - MS Visual Studio (Isolated) Installation

Choose VSIsoShell from BECS prerequisites installation package for Microsoft VisualStudio 2010 Shell

installation.



Accept the information and click “Next”.

Accept the license terms and click “Next”.



Press “Install” for installation.

Click “Finish” when installation is completed.



Step 5 - MS Visual Studio SDK Installation

Choose VsSDK_sfx from BECS prerequisites installation package for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell

installation.

Press “Next” from Setup window.



Accept the License Agreement and click “Next”.

Select the destination folder for installation and press “Next”.



Click “Exit” when installation completed.

Step 6 - MS Visual Studio SDK Installation

Choose vs_vmsdk from BECS prerequisites installation package for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

Visualization and Modeling SDK installation.



Accept the License Agreement and click “Next”.

Press “Next” for installation.



Click “Close” when installation completed.

Step 7 - Visual C++ installation

Choose VisualC++ v56 from BECS prerequisites installation package for Visual C++ installation.



Press “Y” to continue the installation.

The whole installation process might require a restart of your computer.

Press any key to exit the Visual C++ installation.

Now all of the BECS prerequisites are installed for the BECS installation.
