Dear Annie,

We would like to invite you to take part in Becket Hitch, a handmade market, at Woodberry Kitchen in November. Becket Hitch is a boutique pop up shop in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the collaborative effort of Kohli Flick, and Katie McDonough Kutil. Please follow the link below to find out some more about the market, and why we would like you to participate.

A BREIF HISTORY:Kohli and Katie have been avid makers for years. After attending, and participating in craft shows around the country they saw a need for a different kind of show. They developed Becket Hitch to be a curated market composed of 10-12 local artisans offering handcrafted products with an emphasis on high quality and great design. The mission was to redefine the current perception of craft by aiming to bring back the craftsman, the designer, and the maker, with an eye towards sophistication.

SELECTION CRITERIA:Becket Hitch expects attention to detail, quality finishing and a sophisticated eye for design in functional everyday objects. We expect that each maker will offer products appropriately priced for their craft, taking into account materials, labor and retail markup. We believe goods made by hand are worth more, and understand that quality materials cost more. In our experience with past shows, it is obvious that not all makers appreciate this concept. Becket Hitch is a more balanced show because we take into account a wholesale vs. retail pricing structure. In choosing our makers, we have created a market place that showcases products meant to engage a diverse audience, and offer multiple price points.

PARTICIPATION:A Becket Hitch market is different than most for a few reasons. The venue is more intimate than a large fair, and gives guest more of a chance to engage with each maker. There is also a consistent layout for each maker provided by Becket Hitch. Each maker will be provided with a table (60”l x 30”d), tablecloth, and sign. Kohli and Katie believe that this layout provides a clean view of each makers goods, and ensures that makers displays do not compete with one another.

Vendors will be required to notify us of participation by September 23rd, and pay the $50 fee by October 1st. The small fee will provide each maker with a table, tablecloth, and sign. In an effort to keep makers cost as low as possible, Becket Hitch will also have a select group of sponsors to assist with funding.

DETAILS:Please use the following links to RSVP to the event, and learn more about our amazing host, Woodberry Kitchen. Once we receive your intent to participate we will send you a PayPal link to pay your participation fee.
