The challenges were the security of the cameras; logistics of travel and distance and workshop participation during the winter months. Youth from Kleinmond Each banner, although very different, expressed a permanent representation of day-to- day lives. Through the photos taken others were able to acknowledge and appreciate triumphs, hardships, and other aspects our youth are facing. Success of the project was dependant upon the youth. Because of the vision of The Community Development Foundation PhotoSpeak and linking youth with communities, as well as presenting a positive outlet for teens to express themselves was possible. Youth from Khayelitsha and Lotus River We learned a lot, about the programme. There is a lot the communities can do. My eyes were opened when we learned about safety, environment, and child protection When we stared in Westlake taking photos (it was a small town like ours) we took photos. When they took photos of electric wires and I asked Francois why wires...and then it dawned on me Safety and security. We were afraid to walk around as it is not safe but now I am glad as we have made a success of what we started. Youth from Delft South
