Beat COVID-19 TodayA COVID-19 Philippine Situationer
Highlights and RecentUpdates on COVID-19
● DOH recorded 8,151 active cases as of May 10, with the majority of the patients exhibiting mild symptoms (7251, 89%).
● Twenty-six (26) laboratories across the country are now licensed to perform the RT-PCR tests while three (3) and thirty (30) are on Stage 4 and Stage 3, respectively.
● As reported by DFA, there are a total of 2,178 confirmed cases of Overseas Filipinos with the highest count being in Europe at 647 cases.
● A total of 1,991 (19% of all cases) healthcare workers are affected by COVID-19, with 584 recoveries and 34 deaths.
● DOH encourages the public to embrace the New Normal setting in their everyday lives. With this, minimum health standards in food and dining settings are essential to keep everyone healthy and safe. To prevent possible spread of disease, the public should maintain hand hygiene and physical distancing. Masks should be worn at all times, even when talking/ordering.
● Vaccination remains vital to protect everyone against vaccine-preventable diseases especially children ages 0-12 months and those under 5 years old who did not receive their vaccine for selective catch-up. To mitigate the COVID-19 outbreak impact on immunization services and minimize the risk of transmission during vaccination sessions, DOH issued Memorandum No. 2020-0150 or Interim Guidelines for Immunization Services in the Context of COVID-19 Outbreak.
