To develop the youth’s full potential so they become productive members of society thru good governance

Thru the initiative of Ms. Celia Lopez, PDP Laban Deputy Secretary General for South Luzon, the launching of the Be Nice Movement was held at the Municipal Hall of Bauan, Batangas last July 1, 2009 led by PDP Laban President himself, mayor Jejomar Binay. Other participants include Mayor Ryan Dolor of Bauan, PDP LabanYouth Committee Chairman Junjun Binay, Mr. Joey De Venecia, Councilors of both Bauan and Makati.

Dr. Zinnia Arcinue, then PDP LABAN Executive Director, introduced the program’s objectives and directions emphasizing on the call for the youth to go back to the basics of what being a Filipino is. directions emphasizing on the call for the youth to go back to the basics of what being a Filipino is. She pointed out that Be Nice aims to remind the youth of the good qualities of the Filipino people such as: close family ties, hospitality and respect for elders, the value of education and others.

Party President Jojo Binay gave his response to the challenge to involve the youth through the BENICE MOVEMENT. This was followed by the symbolic release of balloons to signify that the movement is officially launched.
