THE CALL TO WORSHIP Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Pastor / CONGREGATION
The Word of God is living and active,
IT IS SHARPER THAN ANY
DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD;
It penetrates even to the dividing
of soul and spirit;
IT JUDGES THE THOUGHTS
AND ATTITUDES OF THE HEART.
All Scripture is God-breathed;
IT IS USEFUL FOR TEACHING,
REPROVING, CORRECTING,
and for training in right living
SO THAT THE PERSON OF GOD
may be thoroughly equipped
FOR EVERY GOOD WORK.
**THE OPENING HYMN
#408
‘HOW FIRM A FOUNDATION’
(1)
How firm a foundation,
you saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith
in His excellent Word!
What more can He say
than to you He has said,
To you who for refuge
to Jesus have fled.
(2)
Fear not, I am with you;
O be not dismayed,
For I am your God
and will still give you aid.
I’ll strengthen you, help you,
and cause you to stand,
Upheld by My righteous,
omnipotent hand.
(3)
When through fiery trials,
your pathway shall lie,
My grace, all sufficient,
shall be your supply:
The flame shall not hurt you;
I only design
Your loss to make strong,
and your gold to refine.
(4)
The soul that on Jesus
has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not
desert to His foes;
That soul, though all hell
should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never,
no never forsake!
SILENT PRAYERS OF
THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
1 John 1:5-7
This is the message we have heard from Him
and proclaim to you: It is that God is light
and in Him there is no darkness at all. And
so if we walk in the light as He is in the light,
we have fellowship with each other, and the
blood of Jesus cleanses us from all our sin.

THE NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURE
James 1:19-27 Read by Ron VanDyke
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says!
Anyone who listens to the Word but does not
do what it says is like a man who looks at his
face in a mirror . . . and, after looking at
himself, goes away and immediately forgets
what he looks like.
But the man who looks intently into the
perfect Law that gives freedom, and continues
to do this, not forgetting what he has heard,
but doing it--he will be blessed in what he
does.
If anyone considers himself religious and yet
does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he
deceives himself and his religion is
worthless.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure
and faultless is this: to look after orphans and
widows in their distress and to keep oneself
from being polluted by the world.
THE SONG OF PREPARATION
I Give All To You
1- I give all my service to You;
I give all my service to You;
No matter the cost or what others do

I give all my problems to You.
No matter the cost or what others do.
I give all my problems to You.
3- I give all my future to You.
I give all my future to You.
No matter the cost or what others do.
I give all my future to You
4- I give all my worship to You.
I give all my worship to You.
No matter the cost or what others do.
I give all my worship to You.

THE CLOSING HYMN
#410
STANDING ON THE
PROMISES
(1a)
Standing on the promises
of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages
let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest,
I will shout and sing,
Standing on the
promises of God.
(1b)
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises
of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing
on the promises of God.
(2a)
Standing on the promises
that cannot fail,
When the howling storms
of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God
I shall prevail,
Standing on the
promises of God.
(2b)
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises
of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing
on the promises of God.
(3a)
Standing on the promises,
I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing
In the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty
Where Christ makes free,
Standing on the
promises of God.
(3b)
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises
of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing
on the promises of God.
(4a)
Standing on the promises
of Christ, the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally
by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily
with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the
promises of God.
(4b)
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises
of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing
on the promises of God.
(5a)
Standing on the promises,
I cannot fall,
Listening every moment
to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior
as my all in all,
Standing on the
promises of God.
(5b)
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises
of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing
on the promises of God.
