DOADOA EAST AFRICA’S PERFORMING ARTS MARKETJINJA

Since 2012, Bayimba Cultural Foundation together with its East Africa regional partners Sawa Sawa Festival, Sauti za Busara Festival, Kenya Music Week, Ketebul Music Records, Caravan records, Jazzamba, and Selam Festival established DOADOA l East African Performing Arts market as a platform for professional networking and co-learning. The Market has grown to become a meeting place that fosters connections in the performing Arts business.

Through DOAODA, several artists have had a chance to be spotted for international festival programming, whereas others have suc-cessfully engaged in cross border collaborations, made recordings and enhanced their presence online. Not to mention the access to professional one on one mentoring with expats that attends the market from far continents.

According to the Ugandan State Minister for Culture and family affairs at the opening of the 3rd DOADOA, she stated that … “For me the joy of DOADOA lies in its wonderful diversity and its open sin-cerity and working with others to bring it all together – the greater and lasting benefit of DOADOA is simply the unique chance to meet your peers from so many different countries, cultural, social and profession-al backgrounds. The opportunity to speak at length with each other is invaluable”

Definitely, DOADOA is a place to be for artists and the others inter-ested in the music business that would like to further their connec-tions and understanding of the East Africa, to tap into the regional market.

Registration for the 4th Edition (6th to 9th May 2015) is ongoing. Follow the link to register in time.http://doadoa.org/registration-2015/ or visit our face book page. https://www.facebook.com/DOADOAEastAfrica
