With more than two decades of experience as a healthcare administrator and CEO, Tim Schmidt recently became the vice president of healthcare operations at Medistar Corporation. Tim Schmidt also leverages his experience as a healthcare CEO to serve as the chief administrative officer of Bay Area Regional Medical Center (BARMC) in Webster, Texas.
In a February 2015 press release, BARMC announced that an upcoming four-story expansion will allow the hospital to serve almost twice as many patients and extensively increase its diagnostic, emergency, and surgical services.

The initial phase of the expansion will implement new Fast-Track beds in the emergency department and more than double the hospital’s emergency treatment room count.
In the second segment of the expansion, the hospital’s cardiology department will undergo a wide range of enhancements, including an additional bi-plane cath lab, more operating suites, a new interventional radiology suite, and a new cardiac cath lab. The extra four flours will allow the hospital to grow its total number of accommodations from 104 patient beds to 200 patient beds.
