Our History BATOC is dedicated to the

preservation and enjoyment of classic 1955-57

and retro 2002-05 Thunderbirds. Founded in

Oakland in 1958, America’s original Thunderbird

club has about 65 members from all around the

Bay Area and Northern California.

Our Mission is to share knowledge and assistance while

enjoying the ownership of our dream cars. As a mem-

ber of BATOC you wil be around some of the most

knowledgeable people in the area. Our members cars

run the gamut from daily drivers to fully restored show

cars. And, your fellow members are eager to share

their time, experience and knowledge. Our Monthly

newsletter includes regular articles and tech tips to

keep your machine rolling down the highway.

The first 1955 Thunderbird rolled off the assembly line on September 9th 1955. It

was a hit! and out sold the ‘56 by just a bit despite the short production year.

Fill out the attached card and

plan to attend our next outing or monthly meeting

held on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the

Buttercup Inn in Walnut Creek. You’ll love the peo-

ple, and we’d love to meet you. When you join

(and we know you will) the initiation fee is only

$40 and annual dues are the same low $40.

interesting and scenic places around North-

ern California including the occasional over-

night trip to places like wine country or gold

country. And of course, we caravan in our
