Organised on behalf of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, thisintroductory course is designed for trainees who have completed their corecardiology training and are planning a career in interventional cardiology.
The programme will include a combination of focussed clinical reviews, interactive angio review casesand “how to sessions”. The topics covered will include:
Basics of coronary interventionCase selection and patient preparation, vascular access and lesion assessment
EquipmentAdjunctive diagnostic tools, guide catheter and wire selection, balloons and stents
How to treatBifurcation lesions, calcified disease, multivessel and left main stem disease
Management of complicationsNo reflow, coronary perforation and thrombus
