Big Offensive Weapons Join the Iowa Barnstormers Four Added to Barnstormers Training Camp Roster

DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers added three offensive lineman Robert (Bob) Beeler, Jonathan (Parker) Rentz, and Alexander Gonzalez to join camp this season along with wide receiver Brady Roland, Head Coach Joe Brannen announced today. Beeler (6-8, 330, Earlham College) comes to the Barnstormers with a year of professional indoor football experience after spending time with the Northern Kentucky River Monsters of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). Collegiately, the offensive tackle played as a true freshman at Earlham and has shown his versatility lining up at the tight end position. Rentz (6-6, 320, Bethel University) started in 25 games over his five-year career as a Royal. Over those years, Rentz played a variety positions including left and right tackle, guard, and on the opposite side of the ball, nose guard. Last season, Rentz was a part of the winning team record, 9-4. Gonzalez (6-2, 295, Upper Iowa) joins the Iowa Barnstormers roster after playing a total of 40 out of 44 games in his four-year career collegiately. In 2013, the Florida native earned All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) honors. He also served as team captain for the Peacocks during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Roland (6-0, 185, Grand View) is another talented local joining the Iowa Barnstormer roster this season. Collegiately, the wide receiver recorded 214 receptions, with 3,539 yards, and 32 touchdowns. This past season, Roland won honors as a First Team All-American player by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and All-League player by the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA). Roland was also ranked top 20 in the nation for total receiving yards (10th), receiving yards per game (15th - 97.3), and total receptions.
