Barbara Allaire Brown83, went to be with theLord on April 28, 2019. She was born in Olton,Texas on May 9, 1935 toBurnice Kell and MelbaLouva Shaw Thruston. From 1937 to 1939, theylived in California, butreturned to Texas andlived in Olton, Levelland,and Plainview. Shegraduated from PlainviewHigh School in 1953,received her Bachelor ofScience degree at TexasTechnological College in1957 and her Master ofEducation from Texas

Tech University in 1970.

She married Air Force Lt. Ivan O. Brown on May 20,1956 and they lived in Lubbock, Texas; Charleston,South Carolina; Azores, Portugal; Tacoma, Washington;and Altus, Oklahoma, before moving to Prairie Grove,Arkansas in 1974. Barbara taught school for 27 years,the last 24 at Farmington, AR. She moved toSpringfield, Missouri in 2012.

She was an active member of Prairie Grove ChristianChurch, Prairie Grove Woman’s Study Club, GFWCPrairie Grove Woman’s Club, volunteered at LifeMinistries, and worked with a reading program atFarmington Elementary Schools after retiring in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan andparents Kellie and Melba Thruston. Survivors are onesister Patricia Smathers and husband James of Lufkin,Texas, and one brother, James Thruston of Dallas,Texas; four children, Juanita Smith and husband Rick ofAustin, Texas; Cynthia Brown of Monroe, Louisiana;Rodney Brown and wife Amy of Nixa, Missouri; andRandy Brown and wife Kathy of Belton, Texas.

Grandchildren are Erika Czarnocki and husbandBrandon of Round Rock, TX, Jason Smith and wifeTiffany of Liberty Hill, TX, Jeff Brown and wife Jessicaof Burbank, CA, Matt McCall and wife Sam ofSpringfield, MO, Stephen Brown of Springfield, MO,Brittany Douglas of Belton, TX, and Spencer Brown ofBelton, TX. Great grandchildren are Nico Marie andPamela Lynn (Plynn) of Liberty Hill, TX, Bella ofBelton, TX, and Link of Springfield, MO.
