Practice Writing Group | Tuesdays 10:30am–12:30pm; Free

What is a Practice Writing Group? We are a collection of established writers, beginners and everyone in-between. We meet week-ly—regular attendance is not required. A random word or phrase is selected and participants write on the selection or word of their choice, within a set time limit. Everyone is given the opportunity to share what they have written, with the option to pass. Those who are present may offer suggestions and en-couragement, with the awareness this is very rough material. Another word or phrase is selected and the process continues.

What is the purpose of a Practice Writing Group? Each writer has their own goals. These may include, but are not limited to:

• Building a base of writing to further develop. • Developing the habit of writing. • Meeting other writers. • Developing an on-going manuscript.

For more information contact: Joyce Nelson Shellhart, 612-710-3876 or [email protected].

NorthWords Writers | 10am-12pm, 4th Saturday of the month, $50 annual fee

For writers who prefer to have their more polished writing critiqued. The NorthWords group meets on the fourth Saturday of the month from 10am-12pm. This group is facilitated by Banfill’s Writer in Resi-dence.
