Campaign Progress

Launching the Public PhaseAfter almost two years of behind-the-scenes fundraising, Bancroft publicly announced our $6 million “capital campaign” in October.

This is a major milestone in our campaign to raise vital funds! “Going public” indicates both the campaign’s initial success, and Bancroft’s commitment to every person we serve, now and in the future.

Called Transforming Our World | The Campaign for Bancroft, the initiative has already reached 68% of its overall goal, through Bancroft’s inner circle of supporters and our very dedicated campaign leaders – our “Campaign Cabinet.”

“Now everyone has an opportunity to become a part of the transformation to create a better world for all of the people Bancroft supports,” said Bancroft President and CEO Toni Pergolin. “I am really excited about this campaign and the wonderful opportunities to make a tremendous impact on the lives of the children and adults who are part of the Bancroft family.”

After a long race…

We’re sprinting toward our goal! And we’re beginning to see the transformation.

It’s so exciting to see all the fabulous changes already taking place across Bancroft, thanks to your support of the Transforming Our World campaign.

An incredible, rebuilt campus at Mullica Hill.

More SmartBoards and iPads, which are helping our students learn.

Communication tools and assistive devices that truly open up the world to those we support.

We can already see the finish line for the campaign – and the many other critical improvements it will bring. But we need everyone’s help to get there!

Our goal is to raise $6 million by June 30, and we’re 68% of the way! Please help us in this final sprint to the finish line, by making a gift today at www.bancroft.org or in the enclosed envelope.

Reaching this goal will enable us to transform more lives in more ways – by providing more life-altering technology, more state-of-the-art facilities, and a host of other improvements that are not funded through any other means.

On behalf of all those we support and their families, I thank you for your involvement and for contributing to so many wonderful transformations at Bancroft. And if you haven’t already, please give now to propel us to our goal!

PS: All campaign supporters will be recognized on our Donor Wall, pictured inside!

Pergolin made the public announcement during a fitting occasion: the re-opening celebration for our newly rebuilt campus at Mullica Hill, whose reconstruction was made possible by the Campaign for Bancroft. (The campus also got a new name –The Bancroft Lakeside Campus at Mullica Hill – to better reflect its picturesque setting.)

The campaign has already raised $4.1 million in gifts and pledges, which have supported multiple far-reaching initiatives. Our goal is to raise at least $6 million by June 30, 2013.

We are now asking you, our families and friends, to join us in securing the future for all of the people who rely on Bancroft. As we launch the public phase of this ambitious initiative, we are confident that with your help, we will continue Transforming Our World! Here are more details on some of the memorable achievements of the past two years:

• The newly renamed Bancroft Lakeside Campus at Mullica Hill has been almost entirely rebuilt. Opened in 1973, the campus’s outdated buildings have been replaced with fully accessible living, learning and working environments that boast leading-edge, universal-design features. Nine new, four-bedroom homes allow for greater independence and less intrusive staff support. A new vocational building enables individuals and groups to learn work-readiness skills. Additional computers enhance learning and communication. New landscaping and pedestrian-friendly pathways encourage socialization and outdoor activities.

• Technology innovations in Bancroft special-education classrooms have been a hallmark of our campaign. Placing SmartBoards in the Bancroft School and iPads in the hands of our students have made a measurable impact on their ability to learn, grow and participate more fully in their educational activities. A key goal of the campaign, going forward, is to provide assistive technology to more people we serve throughout Bancroft.

• The Margaret Bancroft Annual Fund has continued to support initiatives across our organization that are not funded in other ways, from increased recreational activities to facility improvements to enhanced professional development opportunities for our staff.

Transforming Our World | The Campaign for Bancroft is a foundation for our future, and we look forward to sharing our vision and plans with many more friends during this phase of the campaign.

“I would like to challenge our entire community to come together to help us meet and exceed this goal,” said Pergolin. “We want to celebrate the success of this campaign in the spring of 2013.”

To learn how you can participate and/or contribute, please see the back page of this newsletter to contact us.
