BALLENAS BULLETIN #3 NOVEMBER 4, 2021 School Website: http://www.sd69.bc.ca/school/BSS MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL: October saw the start of Flex Learning here at Ballenas. This happens each Wednesday morning. Learning environments are open around the school for students to be in to receive extra support and connection with their teachers and other staff. The Gym is always open, and we also have a variety of elective spaces open such as the Art Room, Theatre, Band Room, our Shops and more. We set out clear “Flexpectations” for this time with our students, and are pleased at how students are using the time to connect with teachers and peers in positive and productive ways. November will see our Remembrance Day ceremony on the 10th which will feature our band and choir students. This ceremony will be held via Zoom. Our first report cards will be sent home on the 26th. These reports will be snapshots of your child’s learning. Please be in communication with your child’s teacher(s) when questions you may have. Contact information for all staff is found on our school website under “Staff Directory.” Our school website is the best source of information for you. Please check it regularly for important dates, updates and information. https://www.sd69.bc.ca/school/BSS/Pages/default.aspx#/= On a final note, Fall is officially here which has brought darker mornings and early evenings. A reminder for our students who walk or bike to school - please ensure you are visible by wearing lighter coloured clothing that is reflective.
