Daniel K. Klingenberger provided an informational overview of updated
employment laws that could potential affect members.
Some key topics were:
• Employers can no longer rely on or seek salary information
unless voluntarily disclosed (AB 168)
• Ban the Box Statute (AB 1008) – Prohibits employers from
including on any application for employment a questions that
seeks the discloser of an applicant’s conviction history.
• SB 3 -Minimum Wage Increases

When and why did you become a member of Rotary? I was asked by Michael Cooper to join. I went to several meetings of Bakersfield East and was sold on the work done by this Club and became a member in 1997. What is your classification with our club? Physical Therapy Retired Tell us about your family: Married to Patricia (Patty) for 47 years with 2 daughters
Megan and Jennifer. 4 grandchildren Randy, Sophia, Prewitt, and Alexander
Hobby/What you do for fun Enjoying the Grandkids…Randy 15 football and wrestling and Sophia singing in Chorus and Family gathering. Also like to ride my bike and drive my “64” corvette. Anything that you would like to share Life for the most part has been good to me….Family and Business. Rotary has also been a wonderful and fulfilling journey for me and Patty. I look forward to many more good times as I gracefully age.
