The story of BelPastry

1984| Founding of the Company and launch of frozen laminated

dough production

1991| Acquisition by the Dossche Group. Investments in product

development and expansion of production capacity. Imple-

mentation of the first automated production line.

1992| Gourmand grows from a semi-industrial local player into

an industrial manufacturer with 3 highly automated pro-

duction and packaging lines, active mainly in the Benelux

and Germany.

2005| Opening of new factory. New Company mission: make the

move from national player to international specialist.

2006| Start of international expansion with initiation of com-

mercial activities in 7 new countries.

dough. The dough is left to ferment for several

hours and contains 85% water, allowing it to

develop a rich aroma. BelPastry’s use of the latest

equipment makes it the world’s only manufacturer

able to reproduce this process on a large scale. The

results are mouth-wateringly delicious, allowing

us to achieve a more intense butter aroma and a

crispier, airier, puffier pastry. What’s more, the

croissant stays crisper while chewing and maintains

its freshness much longer.

From croissants and danishes sweet and savory pastries, our

selection of freshly-prepared frozen bake-off products offers plenty

of choice, variety and is ready in no time. Take&bake!

Just let these products defrost and they’re ready for the oven.

Baking tips The day before baking, you can arrange the products on a rack or tray in the refrigerator. Remember to cover them well with plastic wrap in order to prevent them from drying out.

Since baking temperatures can vary from oven to oven, the specified baking temperature we provide is meant to be used as a guideline.

Make sure the oven is properly preheated. While preheating, set the oven 77°F higher than the specified baking tempe-rature. Because opening the oven causes the temperature to drop, preheating to a higher temperature will ensure the products still achieve a nice colour if there is a considerable difference between the specified baking temperature and your oven temperature.

Lower the oven temperature if the products brown too much, but are still too wet inside. Shorten the baking time if they brown too much and are dry inside.

Add steam at the beginning of the baking process.This gives you a crispier, puffier finish. Allow the steam to escape 5 minutes before baking to ensure that the products are not fully baked.

Defrosting tipPress your thumb into the center of the dough. If it feels soft, you know it’s thawed enough.

The baking times and temperatures provided are meant to be used as a guideline only, since these may vary per oven type/brand.

Bake the products in the oven and let them cool on the baking tray.

Brush each product with egg yolk before placing them in the oven. This will give your final products a shiny golden finish.

Add your own twist! Once baked, add your own toppings to the finished products to taste.

Use parchment paper. Leave enough space between products, so they have plenty of room to defrost.

based on his authentic recipe, to which we’ve added our own pinch of passion and touch of

craftsmanship during our production process. Just further proof that, at BelPastry, we believe

Only the best ingredientsIn order to create our Danishes, we incorporate 24 layers of pure Danish margarine

throughout the pastry dough. The combination of margarine with multiple pastry layers

gives our Danishes a crunchy, airy and crisp texture, infusing them with melt-in-the-mouth

goodness.

our wide selection - and more! You can choose from a variety of fruit or other fillings, such as

Baking tips

Do not allow the Danishes to thaw. Just take them from the freezer to the oven.

Do not place more than 10 large pastries (between 3.00 Oz and 3.53 Oz) on a 60 x 40 cm baking tray.

You can safely fit 20 mini-sized pastries on a tray of the same size.

Maple pecan: cover the pastries with maple syrup just as they come out of the oven.

Danish crowns + cinnamon roll: top with icing glaze or another top-ping after the product has fully cooled.
