Dear St. Pius X Families,

Welcome back to all of our returning families and a warm WELCOME to the new members of our St. Pius X school community! Parents are the heart of our organization and our school.

There are many ways that you can get involved… Attend PSA Meetings! This is one of the best ways to find out what is going on in our school and be a part of everything. Most meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. Share your ideas and feedback! You may contact us via our e-mail at SPXPSA@nycap.rr.com. Become a Room Representative! Sign up at the first PSA meeting on Mon. 9/17 in the Parish Center. Room Reps organize the class parties and PSA events throughout the school year. Come to events! Check out the schedule of events on the reverse side to see the many fun family events planned for this year. We look forward to working with you. Best wishes for a successful school year! BACK TO SCHOOL ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Tuesday, September 4th, 6:30 PM

It's become an annual tradition at St. Pius X, and it's a great night to see some old friends & meet some new ones. You can also bring in your school supplies, talk with your teacher(s), get information about extra-curricular activities and gather around on the front lawn of our

school to make your own sundaes!

PSA 2012/2013 - SAVE THE DATES 9/4 Ice Cream Social – All families welcome! This is a great night to see friends, old & new, meet your teacher(s) and bring your school supplies into school. You will also have an opportunity to get information on the various extra-curricular activities that are available and gather around on the front lawn of school to make your own sundaes. 9/28 Get Acquainted Night – This is an annual tradition at St. Pius, a very special family night out. We are going to have a delicious dinner and a fun evening with a DJ for the kids. Come get to know your teachers and friends! Also in September – the return of the Student Banking Program! Sign up and start saving money today!

10/19 Family Bingo Night in the Parish Center. Come and try your luck while having a fun night as a family!

12/1 Craft Time - A family event, sure to be lots of fun for the entire family. 12/5 - Barnes & Noble Bookfair - Just in time for the holidays! Whether it's a last minute stocking stuffer, a gift card for your favorite teacher or some great reads for you and your family, this is a great way to support your school. Toys and games are included in the bookfair. Don't forget the cheesecakes for the holidays! 12/13 & 12/14 -Santa’s Workshop – Back by popular demand! We will be operating an in-school Holiday Shop for the students to be able to go shopping for their loved ones at “kid-friendly” prices.

1/25 Movie Night - Your kids will be sure to enjoy movie night (PJ's and sleeping bag style) at the school with their friends.

2/19 Roller Skating Party - A fun day out with your SPX friends!

3/9 Family Fun Night – Some friendly family competition while making some family memories.

4/28 Pancake Breakfast - at Applebees in Latham. Back by popular demand! Enjoy a delicious breakfast on a busy Spring morning with your friends while being served by your favorite faculty members!

6/7 - Spirit Day – This is our biggest event of the year and everyone is invited! Rain Date Thursday, June 6th.
