Objetivo de aprendizaje:Look for related words to understand the meaning of words and use expressions to make
generalizations.
Instrucciones:Activity 1.
Practice linkers and media words in the workbook. Find exercises at the end of the
document. Write the statements with the correct answers in a Word document.
Activity 2
Answer the following questions and record them in an audio with your opinion in your
cellphones:
What’s your opinion about covid-19?
Do you think this is fake?
Do you believe that this is all planned?
How can we detect or avoid fake news and incorrect news stories?
Why is this an important skill?

Activity 2
In the same Word document complete the activities from page 68. Get the answers from
the reading and copy the questions and statements with only the answer that you think is
correct.
For exercise 4A just write the words in bold and their synonyms or similar words from each
one in the document. Do not copy the instructions. And in 4B copy the statement with the
correct answer.
Explanation. When we don’t know the meaning of a word or phrase, we look for words in
the text that are related in meaning and they can help us to understand them.
Examples: honest – sincere / kind – thoughtful
Activity 3
In the same document you must write down the following statements with the correct
expression from the text builder about generalizations that are below.
Explanation. These are expressions we use to generalize. They usually go at the beginning of the sentence and we put a comma after them.
Finally, write your comments about the sentences in exercise 5 saying which ones you
agree with. Then modify the sentences from the text builder so they are true for you, please
write down as well.
