We are in the midst of the second semester of classes conducted as part of the

Bachelor study in Horticulture module. This is a program attended by students from

China. In this semester they have participated in the following courses: Plant

Diversity; Vegetable, mushroom and herbs production; Entomology and pest

management; Commercial production of ornamental plants; World seed market

as well as Modern trends in fruit production. As part of their classes students went

to France, where they visited a seed company GRAINES VOLTZ in Loire-Authion

(near Angers) in the Loire Valley.

We asked our Chinese students for a short self-presentation and opinion about their

studies in Poland, which we enclose below.

Hello! My name is Chen Yan. I was

born in Fuzhou city Fujian province.

Fujian is famous for black tea. I'm

studying at Jilin Agricultural

University. During this short stay in

Poland I have experienced many

things and made friendships with

people who came from different

countries.

My name is Zhong Peihan. I study at

Jilin Agricultural University which is

located in Changchun. First I am

glad to come to study at University

of Life Sciences in Poznań.

Although I study here for one year, I

believe that I enriched my

experience by staying here; my

knowledge of English and general

knowledge made a great progress. I

learnt lots of things not only about

study that are very different from

study in China. I hope I will have a

chance to come to Poland again.

We are Xu Hequn and Liu Hongjiang. We come from China, where we study

horticulture in Jilin Agriculture University. We came to the University of Life

Science in Poznan as Erasmus students to learn new things about

horticulture. It's awesome here because professors are knowledgeable and

facilities are modern. We are so lucky because we made a lot of new friends

and experienced some funny things in here. The most surprising experience

was when the professor Roman Hołubowicz took us to the snowy mountains.

It was amazing.

My name is Zhu Xumiao. I am a student of China Jilin Agricultural

University. My major is horticulture. My hobbies are traveling and dancing. I

like Poland. I think it is a great country. I came to Poland because I wanted to

strengthen my English and learn more about gardening. I am very interested

in Europe. I would like to visit many countries in Europe.

I was born in Langfang City, Hebei Province. There are 127 plant families in

Langfang, comprising more than 400 genera and about 920 species. There are

more than 100 kinds of cultivated plants in 11 categories including food

crops, beans, potatoes, oil, cotton, tobacco, herbs, vegetables, melons, forest

fruit, and pasture. The flower which is a symbol of Langfang City is rose.

Hi! My name is Zhang Haotian. I come from Shouguang city in eastern China.

My hometown is the main place of vegetable production in China. I would like

to work in my hometown in the future, which is why I study horticulture. I am

a student at Jilin Agricultural University. My university is in Changchun city in

northern China,. I have come to Poznan for one year. I think, that the natural

environment and cultural environment here are different than in China. Thanks

to this we can acquire new knowledge and experience new things. This makes

us happy :-).
