Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture Systems at Walla Walla Community College WWCC is now offering a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture Systems. A Bachelor of Applied Science degree adds junior and senior levels to two-year professional-technical degrees. Applied baccalaureate degrees offer the best of both worlds: hands-on career training embedded within a four-year degree. Employers seek graduates because they have technical expertise combined with communication, computation, critical thinking and people- management skills. The goal of SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE is to meet society’s food and fiber needs in the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainable agriculture is an integrated system of plant and animal production practices that will, over the long term: satisfy human food and fiber needs; enhance environmental quality and the natural resource base upon which the agricultural economy depends; make the most efficient use of nonrenewable resources and on-farm resources; sustain the economic viability of farm operations; and, enhance the quality of life for farmers and society as a whole. A systems perspective is essential to understanding sustainable agriculture. It is envisioned from the individual farm, to the local ecosystem, and to communities affected by the farming system both locally and globally. Walla Walla Community College ... Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture Systems

at Walla Walla Community College

WWCC is now offering a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture Systems. A Bachelor of Applied Science degree adds junior and senior levels to two-year professional-technical degrees. Applied baccalaureate degrees offer the best of both worlds: hands-on career training embedded within a four-year degree. Employers seek graduates because they have technical expertise combined with communication, computation, critical thinking and people-management skills.

The goal of SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE is to meet society’s food and fiber needs in the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainable agriculture is an integrated system of plant and animal production practices that will, over the long term: satisfy human food and fiber needs; enhance environmental quality and the natural resource base upon which the agricultural economy depends; make the most efficient use of nonrenewable resources and on-farm resources;

sustain the economic viability of farm operations; and, enhance the quality of life for farmers and society as a whole. A systems perspective is essential to understanding sustainable agriculture. It is envisioned from the individual farm, to the local ecosystem, and to communities affected by the farming system both locally and globally.
