California Degree Needs

6

Since 2000, California has lost slightly more college graduates toother states than it has gained. Highly skilledworkers attracted from othercountries are not enough tomeet the need.

Annually public institutions award 110,000 bachelor’sdegrees and private institutions award 40,000. Tomeet theprojected demand by 2025, we must increase the numberof degrees by almost 60,000 peryear—about 40% abovecurrent levels.
