Bennett, Blair, of Honolulu, retired professor emeritus of public health at the University of

Hawaii, died recently in Munich, Germany, where he had been scheduled to lecture on

epidemiology and biostatistics. Bennett, 72, was recognized internationally for his original

scholarly contributions in mathematical statistics as applied to problems in public health and

medicine. He was author and co-author of more than 100 journal articles. Born in Washington,

D.C. Bennett became a faculty member at the University of Hawaii in 1971 and retired this past

summer. He was awarded a Senior Fullbright Award in August to lecture in biometrics at the

University of Munich. He has no known survivors. Services were arranged in Germany.

Burns, Ronnie, of Haleiwa, who died Saturday when he fell off a Waialee cliff while riding his

motorcycle, will have his ashes scattered at sea. Burns, 27, a professional surfer on the Hawaii

Burr, Harold S., of Kaneohe, a retired Hawaii regional district manager for the Social Security

Administration, died Friday at home. Burr, 85, born in Manchester, Conn. He had served as

president of the Pacific Club and the Honolulu Federal Business Association. He is survived by

wife Carolyn; sons David S., Timothy A. and Bruce K., sister, Marjorie E. Burr and Louise B.

Bush Sr., James B., of Volcano, Hawaii, a retired chief planner and estimator for the Pearl

Harbor Naval Shipyard, died yesterday in Hilo Hospital. Bush, 85, was born in Kirriemuir,
