Yotam ElirazChen KachlonA small introduction

What is ADHD?Attention deficit hyperactivity disorderADHD is a problem with inattentiveness, over-activity, impulsivity, or a combination. For these problems to be diagnosed as ADHD, they must be out of the normal range for a child's age and development.ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed behavioral disorder of childhood. It affects about 3 - 5% of school aged children. ADHD is diagnosed much more often in boys than in girls.

Signs and SymptomsThe symptoms of ADHD fall into three groups:Lack of attention (inattentiveness)HyperactivityImpulsive behavior (impulsivity)

Most children with ADHD also have at least one other developmental or behavioral problem. They may also have a psychiatric problem, such as depression orbipolar disorder.

So, who needs to be focus?People diagnosed with ADHDPeople with suspected ADHDTeachers who have students with ADHDJust regular people who want to check the level of their attention and concentration

The application: Main objectiveThe application attempts to diagnose ADHD in a person through the analysis in two different levels:

Diagnosing ADHD using diagnostic user's movement, processing and rendering the results, and creating a graph that allows the user to receive a personal score.

Diagnosing ADHD using specials tests - reading comprehension, games and puzzles that require a high level of attentiveness and punctuality.

How to use the applicationWhen the application opens it have a main menu, in which there are 5 options:Click to login if a user has already registered and want to login.About Bfcous gives a short explanation about the application purpose and how to use it.Signup allow the user to sign up and open a new account.Start monitor a quick start of the application (without the need to register).puzzles and fun stuff - games and puzzles that require a high level of attentiveness

Signing upWhen a user first enter the application it is recommended that he will sigh up. This can be done by pressing the sigh up button from the main menu. After pressing the Signup button the user is directed to the signup screen and required to choose a user name and password. If the selected name already exist the user will get the message Name already in use. Please chose another.

Log onAfter having an account the user can log in to his\her account by clicking the Click to login button, which lead him\her to the screen on the left. Where he will need to be identified by inserting his user name and password. If one them is incorrect he will get an informative error message.

Main menu after loginAfter the user name was successfully loged into the application, he will see a different main menu from before.

The three new changes are:The Hello User Name! message on the right. The Click to logout (to exit). The See history button (the second button, replace the signup).

Introduction: How does the accelerometer reads data? The accelerometer gets movement info from the user in 3 dimensional planes:The X plane (red, which is the horizontal), the Y plane (vertical, green), and the Z plane (how far is the screen from our face, blue).

The Bfocus Monitoring (1/3)

When the user press Start monitor button he will get to the screen on the left - the Bfocus monitoring page. To activate and start a new session of monitoring the user need to press on the Start/Pause button on the buttom.

After that, a timer will be started and on every second that passes, the application will calculate the change in movement in all of the 3 dimensional planes, by doing a Delta. for example, on the X plane: DeltaX(t)=X(t)-X(t+1) (where t stand for time). For instance in this picture The user held the phone in X(0:44)=0 and move it after a second to X(0:45)= 1.39 hens the change is 1.39.

The Bfocus Monitoring (2/3)

The Maximus of all the deltas will be placed as Max change.

When the user wants to finish the monitor session he will have to press on the Finish button. After that the data is automatically stored on the device, and the user is getting an informative message box.

The Bfocus Monitoring (3/3)

The user can see it history on any time by clicking on the See history button. The output looks like this: 10.3.13, avg_x_change: 0.02, avg_y_change: 0.21. avg_x_change: 0.11, avg_max_change: 0.16, time: 10:12.Which means that in 10.3.13 there was a 10:12 minutes session on which the averages changes in movement were as above.

Viewing history

A lot!All of the data that is stored can be use to track a progress of a person who has attention disorder (for example by seeing how well he is doing on the first the day, and a week later, if during that time he received a medicine such as Ritalin). The monitor can be use for someone who wants a basic and free test to see whether or not he is suffering from attention disorder (diagnostic side).Because of the small size of the phone the user can put it in his pants pocket, in he jacket or any other place and by that - testing different areas on the body.Statistic value. All the information can be collected from different people and we can compare between groups of people and test if there are any abnormalities amongst different types of people. But wait What can be done with all this data?

Diagnosing using testsDiagnosing ADHD is done by several important tests: Reading comprehension test - Analyze the difficulties of understanding and analysis of the language by userPunctuality test - Examines the rate of reading, writing and understanding of the user by measuring the performance timeConcentration test - Examines the degree of attentiveness and concentration of the user while performing various operations
