COMB-INATION

I designed the mul-funconal modular unit “COMB-INATION” for “Modular Interior Systems” course. COMB-INATION is a unit system which one can form par on wall, sing units, work surfaces (in fair areas) and storage places by combining them with each other.

home-office for a short-film makerSimple, elegant and minimal; like short movies… The short movies which can express deep emoons and thoughts simply, elegant and minimally are considered as successful short movies. A strong ficon is needed in these expressions, any element shouldn’t be misspent and each one of them should be extremely meaningful. Funconalism is the basic property of short movies; every element has different funcon and different meaning behind their appearance. In other words short movie is a compendious compendious expression of deep thoughts and emoons.Short film makers’ job is their lifestyle so the space where they are living in should be designed according to these principles. When, simplicity, elegancy and minimalism are used as design concept, the pure beauty of the space can be achieved. “Less is more” is the successful expression of using these concepts in space planning. The design which was made in this concept is while being simple, elegant and minimal; it should contain a strong construconal ficon so funconal space analysis becomes important.

interior design of a micro compact houseIn the scope of “Computer Aided Design” course we are asked to design “The Micro Compact House” which is a lightweight compact dwelling for one or two people. Its compact dimensions of 2.6m cube adapt it to a variety of sites and circumstances, and its funconing spaces of sleeping, working / dining, cooking and hygiene make it suitable for everyday use. Our concept was to make it as a dormitory for design students. In design I try to create dynamism by opposing to the right angles in 3rd dimension while providing maximum efficiency in the space requirements ot a micro compact living space.

tour agency office for student toursTour agencies are making connecons between the facilies of a travel organizaon and customers. They find and combine transportaon requirements, accommodaon requirements, the guidance etc. It makes easy for people to travel from one point to another. In other words travel agencies connect also two different desnaons like a bridge. So in my design I gave the feeling of coming together by using physical and visual connecons among spaal units.

the future kitchen design“The Future Kithcen” was the design of a kithcen which is appropriate to the human ergonomy and fulfills the human needs (basically for a family with four members) at advanced level while being durable and modern. In design I used angled lines and place the acvies and the ergonomy that they required in cooperaon with these angles which contributes the efficiency to the usage. On the other hand I prefer to make the future kithen in a linear form so that it can act as a transion and a par on space which seperates two different acvity areas while combining them as being a mid-acvity space. I also tried to make it like a sculsculpture ,which let people to get inside, than an enclosed room.

magazine and newspaper kioskAs a 3rd year design studio we were asked to design a “magazine and newspaper kiosk”. It was a group work and the main aim of the project was to have a brief idea about journal selling because it was the pre-work of the “journal office” design. In design we tried to make the kiosk a form that one can get inside it and be in communicaon with it, so we did it in a linear form and put the magazine shelves extroverted.

bouque hotel in cappadociaMillions of years ago, lava from volcanoes erupted to cover a wide area called CAPPADOCIA, in the middle of Anatolia, and created layers of rock of different thickness and so ness over the lakes and rivers. Over me, this so rock was eroded by the rain, the wind, the rivers and floodwaters and created such aracve shapes on earth surface that over centuries, people came to see this magical beauty…Cappadocia is a special place because of its geographical features which consists of layers of rock, tuff, lava etc. Therefore, we can say that earth surface have not been such aracve in any other place in the world but in Cappadocia. So, as a design soluon for a bouque hotel in Cappadocia, I am oCappadocia, I am offering “straficaon” which creates harmony with the surrounding while having its own dynamic and aracve line that is needed in a hotel design and accommodate with the structural identy of the building.
