The Anti-Defamation League (ADL): is one of the nation’s premier civil rights and human relations agencies.

ADL’s Mission: Stop the defamation of the Jewish people…..and seek justice and fair treatment for all citizens alike

ADL works to secure justice and equitable treatment for all people through: Education Civil Rights Research and Fact Finding

Goals of Peer TrainingGoals of Peer TrainingThe Peer Training Program strives to

accomplish several goals for the participants. These goals include: developing a common vocabulary for discussing issues of

diversity, bigotry and discrimination recognizing and acknowledging prejudice and discriminatory

behavior in themselves and others disseminating knowledge and skills throughout the school

community that increase awareness of issues relating to prejudice;

stimulating positive social change towards an inclusive school environment

creating a forum in which students feel safe to define and speak out on important issues; and

empowering students with the knowledge they need to make a difference in all aspects of their lives.

Benefits of Peer TrainingBenefits of Peer Training Active participation in the

program provides opportunities for Peer Trainers to build skills beneficial to educational and career goals. These skills include:

communication skills interpersonal skills critical thinking skills leadership skills academic skills problem-solving skills
