• Incidence- 1 in 20,000 individuals • Affects age group- 20-50• Bilateral involvement in majority• Causes is mostly unknown. Other causes
include steroid intake, alcoholism, rare blood diseases, storage disorders etc
• Progressive disease leads to crippling if left untreated.
