INTRODUCTION A bell is a percussion instrument used in schools and
colleges.
This design takes over the task of ringing the bell in
various institutions.
The bell would ring automatically at the schedule time.
BLOCK DIAGRAM
POWER SUPPLY
Transformer In the power supply we use step down transformer.
It converts 230V Ac to 12V AC.
MICRO CONTROLLER We are using Atmega8 microcontroller.

LCD LED
LCD It is used to show current time and various messages.
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen is an electronic
display module and find a wide range of applications.
A 16x2 LCD display is very basic module and is very
commonly used in various devices and circuits.
CRYSTAL OSCILLATOR It is used to provide external clock.
It provides stable frequency oscillations.
BUZZER It gives the BEEP sound according to the given time.

WORKING On the power supply of the circuit the bridge circuit
converts the ac supply in to dc supply and voltage
regulator regulates the supply.
We are using IC 7805 which will gives output as 5V This
voltage is used to display the LCD.
On the LCD we can able to view time format as
HH:MM:SS and DAY Number.
We programmed this project as to hear the Buzzer sound
every after one hour and we can display as per the
schedule in the program.

Current consumption 0.45mA for microcontroller.
We can hear Buzzer sound every after one hour.

FUTURE SCOPE Automatic college bell system using Lab VIEW can be
extended for further development as there can be many
departments in a university at a distance in the same
campus and want to synchronize all department bells.
CONCLUSION Present day ringing the bell in colleges or schools are
carried out manually.
The main disadvantage of this is that one person has to be
alert for this.
To overcome from this, we have decided to prepare the
circuit which will be operated automatically and the
ringing of bell will start by its given time.
